Many of us have dreamed of owning a Patek Philippe – and almost any Patek will do. And for a moment it's heartening to remember that every watch brand (even the most elite) has its entry point: Something has to be the cheapest item on the menu, even if it's no one's definition of "cheap." When I started looking into it, I actually wasn't sure what Patek's mechanical entry point would be. Maybe the Calatrava? Nope.Being less formal than the Patrimony makes the Fiftysix a better option for younger audiences (of considerable focus for a traditional brand like VC) and being somewhat more reserved than the Overseas prevents brand overlap while offering variety at the brand's most accessible levels.Timekeeping is managed by a simple and reliable Selitta SW200, which is an automatic Swiss-made movement that ticks at 4 Hz, has about 38 hours of power reserve, and features a quickset date, hacking, and hand-winding. While certainly not fancy, this is a defacto choice at this price point, and the SW200 is a reliable and easily-serviced movement that suits the 600T.There's something so purist about a time-only dress watch and in this classic Three On Three, Ben, Stephen, and Paul Boutros compare glittering examples from A. Lange & Söhne, Vacheron Constantin, and F.P. Journe. All three represent the essential core of what makes each brand so special and no words are spared when taking an in-depth look at the trio. If you want to develop a better understanding of the core appeal of a dress watch, this is a great place to start. What else would a chef pick? This is Ly's domain, his sanctuary. His new restaurant, Monsieur Vo is a special place because it is a location that has endured the face of countless challenges during pandemic times. It was the site of Madame Vo BBQ nep dolcegabbana prior to the trials and tribulations that 2020 brought. As the name would suggest, the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm is – you guessed it – 38mm in diameter. There's a 42mm version of the Khaki Field Mechanical (and an automatic version with different dial styling and configuration) but even on my 7.25" wrist and tall frame, I'm dead set on the opinion this is the platonic ideal of what a field watch should be. The original Khaki watches were 33mm, but modern tastes have changed, and 38mm feels like the perfect sweet spot.
As I mentioned earlier, Audemars Piguet is a brand that caters to its clients. Offering an Offshore Diver in pink gold with titanium bezel and grey ceramic screw-down crowns is clearly not the most obvious choice of materials for a dive nep brunello cucinelli watch – am I the only one who gets nervous about the idea of diving in a precious metal? Maybe Jason Heaton can weigh in here. The standard Aquis is 43.5mm, but the Cherry Red dial – or rather sunray cherry red, as Oris calls it – comes in a 41.5mm case aimed squarely at enthusiasts, and constituting roughly 10 percent of the total Aquis production. This week, his brand is contributing to LVMH Watch Week, an event that was pushed online by the Omicron outbreak. Arnault took some time out for a video call to talk to HODINKEE, covering this week’s new Autavia and Aquaracer Professional 200 models, and much more.First up, a list of gifts we would want for ourselves. Put together by the H shop team these are the gifts that folks who think about product day in and day out want for themselves. This is a selection of watches we love, technology we covet, and some accessories to spice up our world of watches.Case edges aside, as I’ve mentioned, I found the Black Bay GMT on its bracelet to be a bit heavy, but I definitely attribute that to my general attitude towards bracelets. If you like a sport watch on a bracelet, the Black Bay GMT won’t feel especially heavy on your wrist. Comfort is good and with a few micro positions in the clasp, it was no issue to get a proper fit.

Astronomical watches so often tend to be messy, over-the-top affairs. However, this gives you that same sense of cosmic connection without all the fake breitling watches fuss. I still probably prefer something like the Ochs und Junior Annual Calendar for personal wear, but overall this is a really cool watch that is unlike anything you're going to find anywhere else. And at least from one long-time industry watcher's seat (mine) that's where we are today. The pandemic did not spark the nostalgia for the Good Old Days, it merely hammered in the last nail in the coffin of novelty for its own sake.If you read the Roman numerals on the dial clockwise it goes from 12 at the top, to 11, then 10, and so on. If you have to call it a gimmick, sure, you're not wrong. But it's also surprisingly packaged in a way that makes you kind of have to take it seriously. I mean a $38,400 platinum-cased Cartier has to be serious, right? Well maybe, maybe not.
