What started as a panda dial often changed to a cream-colored dial with brown registers. The fun thing is that these discolored models take more after the A385, which actually debuted with a gradient brown dial. The Autavia is probably the vintage Heuer that rose the most during the last run-up and fell the furthest when the boom ended. I can't explain either phenomenon other than to say it was a historically overlooked model and, suddenly, everyone had to have one.Now you know how the robot and his flying saucer interact, but how did Grendizer end up on the dial of the Tissot PRX?You only find one numeral which is the large 12, the rest of the hours have index markers.So what is the 6270? It's arguably the most expensive Daytona ever made by Rolex. It is solid 18k yellow gold, the dial is pave diamond-set, the numerals are sapphires, the bezel is set with baguette diamonds, and oh, the sub-registers? Yeah, they're purple! Only Rolex Datejust eight pieces were produced, all for his Majesty, and the last time one came up for sale, it brought about a milly.Commercially, this watch makes perfect sense. It looks like your typical minute repeater, and chances are it's the kind of design most collectors have in mind when they plunk down six figures for a chiming watch. Sure, the case is large, at 43mm in diameter and 13.15mm thick; but, then again, it's not unusual for a conventional minute repeater to tip the scales in terms of size. These are not complications typically known for their slimness.For this modern iteration, the new FXD fabric strap is still made by the wonderfully old-school Julien Faure (you can see more here) and measures 22mm wide, and is cinched via a signed titanium D-ring. The included single-piece blue rubber strap is brand new and uses a tang buckle for sizing and closure.

The oil allows the indications to be projected right up to the crystal, so there's no distortion when reading at an angle under water.There really aren't that many El Primeros out there. They only made 250 or so of certain models. But I found out Zenith made the Defy, and I started to buy them in all different kinds of condition. I mean, some were really hammered. And I like that.
