Description:
Suppliers are sending conflict minerals declarations on CMRT 6.6, 6.6.1 and 6.6.2, and procurement teams are asking which versions to accept. This guide explains the difference.

CMRT 6.6 is the Responsible Minerals Initiative’s official template, released on 17 April 2026. CMRT 6.6.2 is RMI’s own unbranded version of the same template, published on 30 October 2026, and RMI states that the two are functionally identical. Version 6.6.1 was an earlier unbranded release that RMI has since updated to 6.6.2.

A side-by-side check of the files shows the same declaration questions, Product List fields and smelter list structure. Only the branding, revision number and date differ.

The article covers:

What this means for SEC Form SD and EU Conflict Minerals Regulation reporting.
Whether suppliers who completed 6.6.1 or 6.6.2 need to resubmit.
How to set an acceptance policy that judges a CMRT by its declaration and smelter data rather than its version label.
How Certivo validates CMRT content against RMI’s current requirements.
