Hum & Strum Music School successfully hosted Hum & Strum Rising Stars 2026, a vocal and instrumental music competition in Bangalore, on August 15 and 16 at its Brookefield centre. The event attracted more than 300 registrations, bringing together aspiring young singers and instrumentalists from across the city.
The competition featured two age groups — 6–12 years and 13 years & above — across Vocal and Instrumental categories. After the selection process, 16 finalists from each age category took part in the grand finale, showcasing their preparation, musical skills, and stage presence.
The winners included Akshara Shubhash and Siddharth in the 6–12 years categories, and Ananya Kar and Saathvik Manivannan in the 13 years & above categories. Ishani Menon, Aditya Panda, Shubhi Sinha and Pranav KA were recognised as runners-up. Winners received electric guitars, while runners-up received acoustic guitars.
More than a competition, Rising Stars 2026 provided young musicians with a platform to gain valuable stage experience, build confidence and celebrate their musical progress. The event highlighted the growing enthusiasm for music competitions, singing competitions, and young musical talent in Bangalore, while reinforcing the importance of practice and performance in a student’s musical journey.
